OMLOOP NIEUWSBLAD

Omloop Nieuwsblad held annually in late February or early March as part of 'Opening Weekend' is the traditional opening event of the cycling season in Belgium. Run since 1945 it was originally named Omloop van Vlaanderen then Omloop Het Volk. The race takes in the iconic climb of the Muur van Geraardsbergen. A women’s edition was added in 2006 which is raced on the same day.
